Mission Majnu starring Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna have not just praises but is also receiving criticism. The film is now streaming on Netflix from 20 January. Much later, Pakistan witnessed a major power outage, which affected the larger chunk of the 220 million populated region. Even though the power was revived across the country, however during the blackout phase the netizens used to time to post the memes while also blaming Sidharth Malhotra’s role Amandeep Ajitpal Singh (Aman), who plays a RAW agent, becomes Tariq Hussain in Pakistan.
A user tweeted a still from Mission Majnu, “Nuclear power plant udane gya tha, electric power plant uda ke aagya (he came to blow up the nuclear plant, instead he targeted the electric plant).”
Someone tweeted, “Aisa lagta hai Mission Majnu ko promote karney ke liye blackout kia hai (it seems the blackout was created to promote Mission Majnu).” Another tweet read, “Power outage? Mission Majnu successful?”
Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui, who recently watched Mission Majnu, slammed the scenes in his Instagram post. He stated the ‘misrepresentation’ of Pakistanis in the film while further terming it to be ‘distasteful’ and ‘factually incorrect’. He added that the film has a ‘poor story, poorer execution, poorest research’.
