This comes at a time when tension between the neighbouring countries has heightened after terrorists killed 18 Army personnel at an Army camp in Uri. India blamed Pakistan for the attack as probe agencies reportedly recovered weapons and ammunition bearing Pakistani insignia from the site. A high alert was yesterday sounded along the Mumbai coast and adjoining areas after a group of men were spotted moving suspiciously near a naval base at Uran in Raigad, leading to search operations by multiple agencies.
This won’t be the first time that Pakistani artists have been targeted and threatened by the Mumbai-based political party. The Shiv Sena had previously announced their plans to hinder the promotions of Fawad Khan’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and Mahira Khan’s ‘Raees’.
They even went on record to say that filmmakers and producers like Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar and Shah Rukh Khan ‘should not cast Pakistanis in their films’. The political party had also previously targeted Mekaal Hasan Band and noted ghazal singer Ghulam Ali among others to cancel their concerts in India. They had even threatened to launch a stir against a cricket match between India and Pakistan during the T20 World Cup.
