Narendra Modi Salutes Sacrifices Of Soldiers On Army Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted and praised to the saviours of our country on the occasion of 69th Army Day on Sunday. He said he was proud of its soldiers and welcomes the invaluable sacrifices by them. He also wished the great day to veterans and their families.

Admiring the Indian Army, he further tweeted that our Army always leads from the front whether it is about the sovereignty of our country or helping the needy people at the time of natural disasters.

“We remember with great pride all the sacrifices made by our Army. They put their lives at risk so that 125 crore Indians live peacefully.” he said.

Army day is observed on 15 January every year. It is celebrated to honour Lieutenant General K.M. Cariappa who took over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India on January 15, 1949.
