A press conference was conducted by Netflix, for the Korean drama ‘Money Heist, and we got to know about some interesting details. Check them out.
‘La Casa De Papel’ was the original Spanish show, that was a massive hit with five seasons. The seasons garnered praise globally. In December 2021 the final season of the Spanish show was aired. And in 2020, Netflix announced that the show will have a remake in Korean by Director Kim Hong-sun. No wonder the Korean version of Money Heist is a completely unique story with a star cast that includes Yoo Ji-Tae, Squid Game star Park Hae-soo, Jun Jong-Seo, Lee Won-jong, Kim Ji-hun, Jang Yoon-Ju, Park Jung-woo, Kim Ji-hun, and Lee Kyu-ho.
Talking about the drama series. Netflix conducted the global press conference in June 2022 for the awaited ‘Money Heist: Korea – Join Economic Area’ where some interesting details about the characters, settings, and masks were revealed.

Set against the backdrop of Korea
Just like the original Spanish show, Money Heist Korea is set against the backdrop of Korea which explains how Korea is one of the only divided nations left in the world. The series set in Korea will see a group of robbers hold detainees in the Joint Economic Area. Where there is making of new currency. And the heist is against unification, as it will further the gap between the rich and poor. That will result in a more unjust society.
Modifications to the mask
The Spanish show used the ‘Salvador Dalí mask, but the Korean version used the Hahoetal mask. And there was a lot of work on the eyes and jaw portions. It is told that the mask is carved from wood by hand. Which is of course a true product of Korean artistry. These masks will give a realistic expression.
North and South Will Join hands to end the heist
In Money Heist Korea, there will be a unique concept. In this version, we will witness the officer from North Korea and another from South Korea joining hands to end the heist. The task operators in this series will be Seon Woojin (Kim Yunjin) and Cha Moohyuk (Kim Sung-O) Let us tell u that this series will have 12 episodes in total, The first season is divided into six episodes and will be released on June 24, 2022.
