Iconic characters and well-loved series making a comeback, 2024 promises to be a year filled with excitement and nostalgia.
Deadpool 3
In the third installment of the movie, actor Ryan Reynolds is scheduled to return to his title role as Wolverine, joining forces with Hugh Jackman’s X-Men character. In Fandango’s annual survey, the movie has been picked as the most anticipated movie of 2024. A brief strike forced a halt to production, but it is now back on track with a July release date anticipated.
Venom 3
For the third installment in the Venom series, actor Tom Hardy will reprise his role as Eddie Brock/Venom. The movie was supposed to come out in the summer, but now it’s scheduled for November. This time, Kelly Marcel is doing the directing behind the camera. Alongside Hardy, Marcel also created the story.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
The Spengler family will go from Oklahoma to the original New York fire station, which was depicted in the 1984 Ghostbusters movie, in the follow-up to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife. They will embark on an exciting adventure with the original Ghostbusters after meeting them. March is when the movie is supposed to be released.
Kung Fu Panda 4
The fourth installment of the well-loved franchise, which is scheduled for release in March, will see Dustin Hoffman’s Master Shifu inform Panda Po (voiced by Jack Black) that he will no longer be the Dragon Warrior. This much-awaited follow-up will show Riley, a teenager, battling difficult emotions. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust will be seen alongside Maya Hawke’s Anxiety. Notable actors including Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Tony Hale, Bill Hader, and Mindy Kaling lead the voice cast. June is when it will be released.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
Godzilla and King Kong are now comrades rather than rivals in the follow-up. The movie, a follow-up to Godzilla vs. Kong from 2021, has the two legendary creatures teaming up to take on a fresh foe. Starring Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle, it was directed by Adam Wingard. The planned date is April.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
The May release date of the sequel will take place following Caesar’s demise in the 2017 film War for the Planet of the Apes. Apes will now be the dominant species in the new section, which takes place several generations later. Starring are Peter Macon, Freya Allen, William H. Macy, Owen Teague, and Kevin Durand.
Dune: Part Two
In the much awaited sequel, directed by Denis Villeneuve, Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides will continue his quest as he seeks retribution from those who destroyed his family. Austin Butler, Christopher Walken, Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux, Souheila Yacoub, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, and Stephen McKinley Henderson will all be joining Chalamet.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
George Miller’s Mad Max franchise will continue with a sequel that is slated for release in May. Anya Taylor-Joy, playing the younger version of Charlize Theron’s character, Imperator Furiosa in the movie. She will be seen making her way home over a difficult route. Chris Hemsworth to also make an appearance
Bad Boys 4
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, actors, will return in a sinister role! Bad Boys for Life is followed up in this action-packed fourth installment of the series. Chris Bremner wrote the screenplay, and Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are the directors. It is anticipated to be made available in June.
Despicable Me 4
Actors including Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Pierre Coffin, Miranda Cosgrove, and Steve Coogan are anticipated to return for the newest installment of the franchise, despite the fact that many plot specifics remain unknown.
