In Mrs. Undercover, Radhika Apte plays a typical housewife with a remarkable past. She is enlisted by the Special Force, her previous employers, to assist in the hunt for the elusive serial killer Common Man, who has been killing strong, independent women. The actor portrays a housewife who, upon realising the seriousness of the situation, unleashes her extraordinary spy abilities.
Radhika posted the trailer on her Instagram and wrote, “Brace yourself for the year’s most unusual story of an uncommon housewife! But she is #NotJustAHousewife #MrsUndercover premieres 14 April on #ZEE5.”
Rajesh Sharma appears in the trailer as a Special Forces soldier attempting to persuade Radhika to come back. She gives him a number of amusing justifications, such as her kid having a unit test at school or her mother-in-law being present. But ultimately, he exhausts her. Then, as she hunts out Common Man, she dusts off her rusty spy abilities. As she abandons her housewife persona in the last moments of the trailer, Radhika can be seen in action mode. Because it attempts to use humour to depict Radhika being persuaded to return to her life as a spy, the movie’s tone can be a little perplexing. But as she struggles to identify herself as a woman and battles the serial killer, the movie eventually shifts into more serious territory.
Helmed and written by Anushree Mehta, Mrs. Undercover stars Sumeet Vyas in the role of Common Man, a serial killer. Along with Amrita Chattopadhyay making a special appearance, the remaining cast members include Shaheb Chattopadhyay, Roshni Bhattacharya, Indrashish Roy, Angana Roy, Laboni Sarkar, and Biswajeet Chakraborty. On April 14, 2023, Zee5 will air the movie.
