It is our responsibility to maintain an ecological balance whenever we travel, whether inside or outside of India. The last thing we should be expected to do is to leave the area dirty and filled with trash and waste.
Mount Everest is greatly influenced by mountaineers, and it is their duty to keep it that way. But a recent social media video depicts an entire tragic scene.
IAS officer Supriya Sahu posted an upsetting video of trash and plastic debris being thrown at a camp on Mount Everest. The mountaineer who reportedly took the footage of the camp location characterised it as “dirty.”
“When human beings don’t spare even Mount Everest from dumping their garbage and plastic pollution. Truly heartbreaking. #stopplasticpollution #MountEverest #everest video by @EverestToday,” the video shared by the officer read.
Netizens were filled with rage after the video went vir. Some called it a “horrible sight”. “Oh no! This is really sad..some laws need to be brought in to prevent this asap,” a user commented.“
Some areas should be kept out of Humans if nature has to be preserved,” another user wrote.
