Many Islamic scholars and clerics from different factions of the Muslim community have openly come out advising the community to avoid sacrifice of bulls and cows this Bakrid. This move will help in preventing atrocities on Muslims by “so-called Gaurakshaks.” The holy festival of Eid-ul-Azha popularly known as Bakrid will be celebrated in September.
According to the One India, the spokesman of All India Sunni Ulama Board, Maulana Syed Hamid Hussain Shuttari said that: “Let us avoid sacrificing bulls this festival. Let us do this to defeat the conspiracy that is being spun to create communal violence.”
He also appealed to the Muslim community to resort to sacrifice animals like goats, sheep or camels this Eid.
The vice president of Jamiat Ahle Hadees, Dr. Syed Aasif Umri, Hakeem Soofi Syed Shah Mohammed Khairuddin Quadri and Hamed Mohammed Khan of Jamaat e-Islami
are supporting the move.
Dr. Syed Aasif Umri said: “Muslims are being targeted in the name of cow slaughter by so-called gaurakshaks. This is an attempt to breach the country’s communal harmony in the name of religion, Indian Muslims are mired in challenging times, and Hindutva forces are trying to damage the Muslim community.”
He further added that several communities in India consume beef but some people want to create hatred during Eid ul Adha. He also pointed out the death of 200 cows at a Gowshala managed by a BJP leader.
