Naga Chaitanya as of late revealed the meaning behind his arm tattoo and requested his fans to stop imitating it. The actor uncovered that his tattoo, which is a morse code, carries his and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s marriage date. He also noted that he has no longer considered removing the tattoo after their divorce.
Chaitanya opened up about his tattoo as he portrayed his crazy fan encounters in a new chat with Bollywood Bubble. The actor said, “I met a few fans who’ve tattooed like my name and all that and they’ve imitated this tattoo (gesturing to his forearm). This is not something you would want to imitate. It’s the day I got married. So I won’t want the fans to put that. I feel really bad when they tattoo these things. It’s like ‘don’t, things might just change. I can change the tattoo’.”
When inquired as to whether he has actually thought about changing the tattoo, the actor said, “No I haven’t thought about it, it’s fine.” He was also asked what he would do if he runs into ex-wife Samantha today, and he replied, “Say hi, give her a hug.”
Chaitanya’s arm tattoo also has two arrows, which he had gotten together with Samantha. Explaining their matching tattoos, Samantha had shared on her Instagram account, “My tattoo means create your own reality. Chay and I got it together. It’s really special for us”. Samantha had likewise got ‘Chay’ tattoo on the right side of her rib. In addition, she has a tattoo reading YMC below the nape of her neck. YMC are the initials of Ye Maaya Chesave (2010), her debut movie, which featured her opposite Naga Chaitanya and likewise marked the starting point of their relationship.
