Navjot Singh Sidhu Joins Congress Officially, BJP Says He Lost Direction

Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu is in headlines once again, this time not for his laugh-out-loud giggles but for his political action plan. The three times Amritsar MP Navjot Singh Sidhu who quit the BJP last year and kept the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) hanging for weeks joined the Congress in the presence of party’s vice president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday.

The 53-year old is speculated to help the Congress against Akali dal and AAP in Punjab as he is the famous personality of the country. The elections in Punjab are going to held Feb 2, 2017. And with the entrance of Navjot Singh Sidhu the Congress is hoping to come back to power after a decade.

On his joining, Navjot Singh tweeted, 

The opposition party BJP has also reacted to his move to join Congress and said that he has completely lost direction in politics as signified by his ‘party hopping decisions.’ Senior BJP leader S Prakash said, 

“Like I said earlier also, unfortunately, Navjot Singh Sidhu, who had such a high reputation for the reason best known to him has lost direction in the politics. He started hopping from one party to another and now desperately clinging to Congress party,”
