Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui averred his opinions on how actor who charge a handsome amount for being a part of the movie should not be concerned about the ticket sales and box-office collection. According to him it is a ‘corruption of craft’ while the onus lies on the producer too.
While speaking to Etimes, Nawazuddin said that the stars who charge more than Rs. 100 crores every film are the sole person to be marked for harming it. He added that whenever the budget is above vaibility, it is certain that it will flop. “Actors, directors, storytellers don’t flop. It’s the film’s budget that makes it a hit or flop,” he added.
“I could have a trillion dollars but if I don’t have the ability to think of one decent idea, it’s almost a certainty that my trillion dollars will get reduced into pocket change,” he said.
He further stated that a good script is all that matters. “We should give more credence to a capable brain and a person who can come up with good ideas,” he said.
Nawazuddin wrapped up by saying that the ‘star-driven concept’ is on the verge of getting diminished. He also pointed out on the extremely high ticket rates. The actor will be next seen in Haddi, slated to hit the theaters next year.
