On 9 October, Filmmaker Vignesh posted a life update on his social media handle. The caption read “Nayan & Me have become Amma & Appa. We are blessed with twin baby boys.”
Fans were thrilled to receive the news while some speculated that the couple might have adopted the method of surrogacy like many other celebrities, most prominently Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. As of January 2022, surrogacy is has been banned in India by the Government.
During a press conference held in Chennai, Tamil Nadu health minister Ma Subramanian was asked by a journalist if a couple who have tied the know just four months ago, are they eligible to go for surrogacy with any time constraints? According to The News Minute, the Minister averred that the Directorate of Medical Services will be asked to initiate an inquiry for the same and seek the cause.
According to the reports it has been found that Nayanthara and Vignesh had supposedly started the surrogacy procedure before December 2021 when it was considered legal. The Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021 which was passed in late December 2021 was brought into the highlights by January 25, 2022, allowing only altruistic surrogacy.
Nayanthara and Vignesh, first met during the shoots of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in 2015. Thereafter they dated or many years and got hitched in June, this year at Mahabalipuram.
