Shabana Saeed, wife of Bollywood filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala, was arrested by the NCB in a drug-related case. According to the latest reports, Shabana Saeed has been granted bail by a Mumbai court after nearly two days of arrest. The NCB on Sunday raided the Bollywood producer’s apartment and arrested Shabana. Reports state that some amounts of marijuana were found from her home during the raid.
In a tweet confirming the case, ANI wrote, “A Mumbai court granted bail to Shabana Saeed, wife of filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala, on a personal bond of Rs 15,000. She was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Mumbai on November 8 in a drug related case. According to a recent report by ETimes, Shabana is separated from her husband and takes care of her two children. Her lawyer Ayaz Khan argued that the drugs were seized in small quantities.
Meanwhile Nadiadwala appeared before the agency on Monday and recorded his statement. As reported by NDTV, Firoz Nadiadwala was called by the NCB a few days ago after arresting a drug peddler named Wahid Abdul Qadir Sheikh in the city. The NCB team then began to monitor Sheikh’s customers. Reports later surfaced that Firoz Nadiadwala’s wife Shabana Saeed had allegedly bought 10 grams of marijuana from a drug peddler. Meanwhile, Shabana was seen outside the NCB office after he was arrested on Monday under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
