Vidya Balan starrer Neeyat has witnessed a below the mark performance at th box office with a mere collection of more than ₹1 crore on the first day as per some reports. helmed by Anu Menon, the film is was out on theaters on July 7.
Vidya returns to the theatres after four years while was also featured in many OTT projects like Jalsa, Sherni, and Shakuntala Devi. It also features Ram Kapoor, Shashank Arora, Rahul Bose, Prajakta Koli, Neeraj Kabi, Amrita Puri, Shahana Goswami, Dipannita Sharma, Danesh Razvi, and Niki Walia in the main cast.
According to a Sacnilk report, Neyat minted a net collection of ₹1.02 crore in India on Friday that is the opening day. The report further mentioned that engagement increase from seven to 18 percent in the night shows.
Neeyat has garnered bad to mixed reviews from the critics.
Earlier, in conversation with ANI, Vidya spoke about her film and said Detective Mira Rao in the film is “not your everyday, classic detective” which made it fun experience for her to work on her character. She mentioned that she got the opportunity to “sink my teeth into an unusual and quirky character”.
She wrapped up, “I’m supremely delighted to be back in theatres with the release of Neeyat and am waiting with bated breath for audience reactions.”
