A newborn baby girl was found lying under the bush in the city of Una in Gujarat. Allegedly, her parents threw her into a thorny shrub as the case is the latest tragic example of baby girls being rejected by their families in India.
The little angel was rescued after her cries were overheard by a passerby who then informed the emergency services and an ambulance quickly arrived on the scene.
She was taken to the hospital and was found bleeding from several places. According to the Metro, ” Doctors carefully pulled the thorns from her body before cleaning her up and making sure that she was fed. She was recovering from her injuries and doctors described her condition as stable.”
Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
As a result of infanticide and sex selective abortions, 50 million girls and women are missing in India’s population as per the data released by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
