The budget for the fresh year is set to be launched soon. Ahead of the declaration of the Union Budget Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman averred on January 15 that while she is cognizant of the middle class it must be also kept in mind that the ruling government has not yet levied any fresh taxes on the citizens.
Sitharaman will offer Union Budget for 223 in the lower house Lok Sabha on February 1. This arrives amid expectations that the government will increase the income tax limit and offer relief to the middle class taxpayers.
“I too belong to the middle class, so I can understand the pressures of the middle class. I identify myself with the middle class, so I know,” the minister averred during a function hosted by the Panchjanya magazine, an RSS – associated weekly.
Adding to it, the minister also reminded the audience of the fact that the government have exempted the middle class to pay extra taxes on the middle class. She says that a person earning an income of up to Rs 5 lakh will be exempted from the income tax.
