MeToo in India gained its momentum since the day actress Tanushree accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of 2008 film Horn Ok Pleassss. After that, many female celebrities are coming forward to share their horrific experience of sexual misconduct. The latest in the list is not an actress but an actor.
He is none another than Huma Qureshi’s brother Saqib Saleem. He has come out and has revealed that he got sexually harassed at the age of 21. In an interview with a leading daily, he said,
“I don’t want to take names, but when I started out as an actor- I was only 21 years old there was a man who tried to assault me. He tried to put his hand in my pants.”
The actor further added,
“When it happened with me, I whacked the guy and I told him to mind his own f***ing business and I left. I was 21, and of course, it scarred me, but I moved on. I’m sure that everyone’s different and an incident such as this must affect different people differently.”
About #MeToo stories of different actresses, he said,
“These stories are heartbreaking and sexual offenders are horrible people.”
Saqib Saleem was last seen in the Salman Khan starrer Race 3. He has worked in films like ‘Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge’, ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’, ‘Bombay Talkies’ etc.
