Nushrratt Bharuccha, a Bollywood actress, has safely returned home after becoming stuck in Israel as a result of the current hostilities between Israeli troops and Hamas militants. When Hamas launched a “surprise attack” on Israel that left thousands wounded and hundreds dead, the actress had already arrived to the area to attend the Haifa International Film Festival.
The actress may be seen exiting the Mumbai airport’s departure gate in a number of online videos. In the viral videos, Nushratt can be seen acting upset and stating, “I just want to go back home to my family.” Here is the video.
After Hamas launched thousands of rockets from several sites, Israel has been dealing with a crisis that has made the situation in the nation perilous and worrying. During this trying time, Nushrratt, like many others in the area, had to deal with uncertainty and hardship.
Nushrratt’s team issued a statement before to her arrival in India, stating: “We have finally managed to get in touch with Nushrratt, and with the help of the Embassy, she is being safely brought back home. We did not get a direct flight, so she is on a connecting flight home. For her further safety, more details cannot be shared, but as soon as she lands in India, we will inform you. We are relieved and thank God that she is safe and on her way to India.”
According to earlier reports, Nushrratt told her colleagues she was down in the basement with others during their afternoon talk, which was the last time they spoke.
In reprisal bombings in Gaza, Israel said on Sunday that it had killed over 400 Hamas fighters. Following Hamas’ “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,” which involved missile strikes and smuggling into the nation by air, land, and sea, a “state of war” was declared.
