Over the years at such a young age the Raazi actress has shown that she is a great actress by playing a variety of roles over the span of a nine-year cine career. But her journey was not easy.
There was a time when Alia had lost about 16 kg in three weeks for her debut film ‘Student of the Year’. She weighed about 67 kg at the time. About 400 girls, including Alia, had auditioned for the film. After being selected for the film, Karan Johar had clearly told Alia to lose weight or forget her role in the film.
However later he also apologised saying that she was quite plump, and that’s the reason why he asked her to do so. He said that to be in the main stream cinema she has to be in great shape as she will play the lead in the film. And will be good for her career.
But many might be unaware that ‘Student of the Year’ was not the film in which she debuted. Infact her first film was the 1999 film Sangharsh in which Preity Zinta Played the lead actress. And during that time she was only 6 years old.
