Neena Gupta while talking to a portal recently opened about taking absurd work just for the sake of money. Read to know what the senior actress said.

Neena Gupta is an inspiration for many women. As a single mother, she brought up her daughter quite well. She is one of the few actresses in the Bollywood industry whose upfront attitude is an example for women. The way she faced challenges and overcame with all the things in her life was surely a refreshing change. The actress no wonder entertained her audience for longtime and still she continues to do the same. However, in a recent chat with a news portal, Neena also admitted that there was a time when she was suppose to take up ‘rubbish work’ in films just for the sake of money because she had to pay the bills.
The actress speaking about her past works revealed that she wasn’t convinced with the role she got in the past but just for money she took up the roles. Talking to the portal, she revealed that since she had no work. Due to this reason, she took up badly-written characters. Neena said: “Earlier I used to do films that I prayed would never see the light of day. I played badly-written characters because I had no work,”
Talking about her work, Gupta has been a part of iconic television shows like Khandaan and Saans. And for this she said that since she had the option of choosing her work there on small screen, she chose her character quite carefully. The actress said, “On television, I’ve never done anything that I’ve not liked. But there I could choose. With films, I needed the money, so I had to do such rubbish work, you can’t imagine. There is this one film that comes a lot on TV and I cringe when I see myself in it. So yes, now I have a responsibility, and I’m quite clear in my head about what I like and what I don’t want to portray.”

Neena was away from the silver screen for a long time, but now the actress has a successful second innings in the entertainment industry. Her works in films like Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Sardar Ka Grandsons and Badhaai Ho was worth appreciating. Talking about her recent project, she will soon be seen in Manoj Bajpayee’s Dial 100 and Amitabh Bachchan starrer film Goodbye. While ago the actress grabbed headlines for her autobiography ‘Sach Kahun Toh’ in which she made some confessions about her personal and professional life.
