Oppenheimer and Barbie is giving tough competition to each other at the global box office theatre. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling which will hit theaters on July 21. The two films are relishing advance bookings in India.
Oppenheimer’s advance bookings have commenced 10 days before and since then have sold 90,000 tickets across three multiple joints – PVR, INOX and Cinepolis.

Meanwhile, Barbie too have kicked off the advance bookings with a phenomenal sales of 16,000 tickets in three multiple chain.
As per a report by Insider, Nolan said when asked about if he’ll watch Barbie, he responded with a “no,” with “a hint of disinterest.”
Nolan further said, “Now, you must know I’m not going to answer that question, only to say those who care about the theatrical experience, we’ve been longing for a crowded marketplace with a lot of different movies. That’s what theaters have now, and those of us who care about movies are thrilled about that.”

Cillian Murphy who is the lead in Nolan’s Oppenheimer revealed in conversation to IGN, “I mean, I’ll be going to see Barbie, 100 per cent. I can’t wait to see it. I think it’s just great for the industry and for audiences, that we have two amazing films by amazing filmmakers coming out on the same day. You can spend the whole day in the cinema – what’s better than that?”
