Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced an immediate compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the family of all the dead of the state. On Thursday, the statement issued by the CMO said that due to lightning, 13 in Gopalganj, 5 in East Champaran, 6 in Siwan, 5 in Darbhanga, 5 in Banka, 5 in Bhagalpur, 3 in Khagadia, 8 in Madhubani. 2 in Champaran, 1 each in Samastipur, Saran, Sitamarhi and Shivhar, 2 in Kishanganj, 2 each in Jamui and Jehanabad, 8 in Nawada, 2 in Purnia, 2 in Supaul, 3 in Aurangabad, 2 in Buxar, 2 in Madhepura and 2 people died in Kaimur.
