OYO Rooms had launched a new feature that allows the unmarried couples to book rooms in their hotel called “Relationship Mode”. Now, you can book the room from going to the website and opting out the relationship mode by just showing your local identity proof.
Oyo is a huge name in hotel industry which offers 70,000 rooms in 200 cities, has claimed that about 60 % of its inventory will allow this feature. In the relationship mode, the user will only get access to those hotels wich provide rooms for unmarried couples.
Kavikrut, Chief Growth Officer, at Oyo Rooms, said in an interview with The Times Of India that, “A substantial number of our customers are in the age group of 18-30 years and this category could be served best with such initiatives. We are not catering to a niche audience, neither is this a gimmicky marketing tactic. As a customer-focused business, we are identifying and solving problems that can impact the stay experience. With this launch, we are making sure couples can identify and check-in to their OYO without any hassle”. There is no law which says that hotel can not let the unmarried couple stay, but still some hotels do not let unmarried couples stay alone.
