Disney + launched in November 2019. In just sixteen months, the streaming service has already reached the milestone of 100 million subscribers. An achievement that required the major competitor, Netflix, 10 years.
Analysts now think Disney will eventually win the battle. As Disney has more and more services, including Disney +, ESPN + and Hulu, analysts think the company could win in 2024.

260 million subscribers
Disney hopes to have a whopping 260 million subscribers by 2024 for its three streaming services combined. It hopes to achieve this in part by spending considerably more money on original content: 15 billion dollars to be precise.
Last month it turned out that Netflix had about 203.7 million subscribers worldwide. It took four years to do that, after reaching the 100 million subscriber mark in 2017. Furthermore, Amazon Prime Video is thought to have around 147 million subscribers worldwide.
Analysts think Disney + has some time to go before it gets bigger than Netflix. Disney + is expected to exceed Amazon Prime Video in any case by 2024. By 2025, he thinks Netlfix will have 286 million subscribers and Disney + 247 million. But if you also add the other Disney products, things will quickly change.
Disney could already have 266 million subscribers by 2023, where Netflix is predicted to have 269 million. A year later Netflix and according to the analysts 279 million and Disney (so if you include ESPN and Hulu) already 295 million.
