Interestingly, this Pakistani movie faced a grand release in the overseas and took no time in creating a good image in the box office. The leading actor Fawad Khan has went through a massive transformation for this role and fans are going berserk about it all over.
The Legend of Maula Jatt, in the first week collected a whopping USD 2.3 million (Rs 18.94 crore) overseas. The Pakistani film was simultaneously released across the world, featuring on 25 different countries across 500 screens. The filmmaker also claimed that this movie has served to be the biggest ever release in the Punjabi film genre.
The Legend of Maula Jatt received a phenomenal number one ranking at the UAE Box Office, sixth in Canada, eighth in Australia and ninth in the UK. The film grossed at USD 5,26,902 (Rs 4.34 crore) in the domestic theaters alone.
Fawad Khan, while prepping for the role the former took inspiration from Bollywood star Aamir Khan and weighed up to 100 kg to play the character in the movie. However, it landed Fawad in the hospital during the transformation procedure.
