On Monday, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan posted about his milestone achievement associated with his fresh release of The Legend of Maula Jatt which has successfully garnered a whopping Rs 100 crores overseas. The actor shared this update on his social media. The film also features Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abassi and Humaima Malik in the lead role.
Fawad shared the poster of the film and captioned it as wrote, “Joining the 100 Crore Club. #TheLegendOfMaulaJatt in cinemas now, book your tickets today!”
The film is a creation of Bilal Lashari. Originally derived from the 1979 classic which focuses on the life of Maulana Jatt a prizefighter who was supposedly harassed and troubled by the demons associated with his past which brings into picture Noori Jatt, the most benevolent fighter of the era.
On the success of the film, Bilal Lashari spoke to Deadline and stated that, “I’m beyond overwhelmed by the love the film has received from audiences and critics alike the world over. We are so proud that The Legend of Maula Jatt has been instrumental in putting Pakistan-made cinema on the global map as it continues to win over hearts in theaters across the world.”
Fawad Khan also follows a massive fan base in India. His works in the Hindi film industry have etched in the hearts of people at large. However, due to the stressing ties between the countries, the actor had decided to pause the work in India until conditions are revived.
In an interview the actor averred, “I think it’s more of a question of whether someone else would like to work with me, instead of me working with others, because fingers will be pointed at them. I’ll do my work and go away but then the people who’ll have to suffer are those who want to collaborate with me. And I care about them because they are going to live there, and they’re going to suffer the consequences.”
