In 2015, Modi government allowed Hindu refugees from Pakistan and Bangladesh to stay on in India even if their visas had expired. At that time, Modi government very proudly said that they had taken this decision on the basis of humanitarian grounds.

Supreme Court Questioned Modi Government
Supreme Court of India has asked the central government to give a detailed reply on their decision to deport Rohingya Muslims back to Myanmar. A bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra, D Y Chandrachud, and A M Khanwilkar considered Prashant Bhushan’s plea (challenging the central government’s decision to deport thousands of Rohingya Muslims) that it requires an urgent hearing.
