Panic In Sri Sathya Sai Baba Ashram! A Giant Python Founded

Banglore: Recently, a giant python entered the Sri Sathya Sai Baba ashram in Whitefield and spread fear in the whole area. Where many people went terrified due to the presence of the snake, straw dogs started barking, some in the fear to save their live and some to save others.

It was found resting on a fence in the ashram premises when the members of BBMP forest cell were called. The way of these members was blocked by hundreds of passerby who were gathered outside of ashram, making it more difficult for the authorities to handle the business.

CS Nagabhushana, who helped in getting the rid of the snake said that it was an 8.5ft long Indian rock python who weighed about 8 kilos.

“We received complaints about stray dogs being captured by a huge snake in the past few days but none of them was confirmed. Pythons are not native to Bengaluru and this is only the third one I have seen here in 15 years,”¬†said Nagabhushana.

“It was very difficult to manage the curious crowd. Some of the onlookers were armed with long sticks and weapons. There were no police personnel to control the crowd. Luckily, I rescued the snake within 10 minutes,” he added.

Now the question remains where did the python come from?

Sharath Babu the warden at BBMP said that the python found could be 15 years old and had entered the area through the nearby railway lines.

“A railway track runs close to the area. The python may have entered one of the trains in search of rodents and sneaked out when the train slowed down or stopped here for some reason,” he said.

Thankfully, a python is a non-venomous snake and during this incident, no civilian was injured in the Sri Sathya Sai Baba ashram.
