According to a new research, parents should restrict the amount of time their children spend on watching TV. Specialists have found “a strong link” between rising child obesity levels and frequent exposure to the social media. Therefore, they are warning parents to take action by limiting their children’s screen time to 90 minutes a day.
Obesity = Prolonged Exposure To TVs, Smart Devices And Computers
Dr Adamos Hadjipanayi said:
“Parents should limit TV viewing and the use of computers and similar devices to not more than 1.5 hours a day and only if the child is older than four years of age.”
Childhood obesity has increased at an “alarming rate” and parents should look it as a health threat. By the time, a child has reached the age of nine, they are watching more than seven hours daily.
Across the globe, over two billion children and adults suffer from health problems related to being overweight or obese. When it comes to India, we have 14.4 million children that have excess weight.
