Everyone has different views on the relation between Religiosity and Intelligence. Both the things are differently defined by the researchers but their co -relation always raises a question. Our world is generally divided into two categories Atheist and Believer. Both have different opinion and perception regarding life, culture and even human beings.
According to the IFL Science, The researchers put forward the Intelligence-Mismatch Association model in a paper, which is published in Evolutionary Psychology Science. Co-author Edward Dutton, of the Ulster Institute for Social Research in the UK, said: “If religion is an evolved domain then it is an instinct, and intelligence – in rationally solving problems – can be understood as involving overcoming instinct and being intellectually curious, and thus open to non-instinctive possibilities.”
There is a significant negative association between how religious people are and their intelligence, which is shown in a meta-analysis of 63 studies. This means on average, religious people are less intelligent than atheists.

Dutton developed a model with co-author Dimitri Van der Linden from Rotterdam University in which both explained, “If religion is indeed an evolved domain – an instinct – then it will become heightened at times of stress when people are inclined to act instinctively, and there is clear evidence for this.”
“It also means that intelligence allows us to able to pause and reason through the situation and the possible consequences of our actions.”
