A mother of two named, Jordyn Jones felt disgusted after the photo of her 2 years old daughter removed from Instagram. She posted a photo of her daughter at the beach. The photo was met with a flurry of hurtful comments about her daughter. Some of the social media users were so irked due to the photo, after which it was removed from the Instagram.
Here are some of the comments:
“Have you heard of suncream? How about you start using it before your kid looks 40 at four.”
In her statement to news.com.au, Mrs. Jones said she felt disgusted by the comments of social media users. “She [commenter] was screaming racism at me,” Mrs Jones said. She continued,
“Before she even knew my background, she was commenting how Winter’s dark skin was disgusting. There were other people saying I was neglecting my child and opening her up to skin cancer. It’s very offensive.”
In her reply Mrs. Jordyn said,
“My child’s skin is beautiful, I take all necessary measures to ensure her skin is protected and I wake up every dam [sic] day striving to be the best mother possible. If you don’t like my posts or our skin color offends you please just unfollow. You couldn’t see any parts of her, it was a side profile.”
She posted another photo with a message revealing how Instagram removed her daughter’s photo.
To let you remind, according to Instagram guidelines, “the social media platform may remove images that show nude or partially-nude children” as even when the “content is shared with good intentions.”
