Pratyusha Banerjee aka Balika Vadhu is no more in this world. It’s been a year now she left this world and put everyone in shock with her tragic death. The kink of her death is still unsolved. However, her best friend Kamya Punjabi did something special to honour her friend on her first death anniversary.
She scheduled the release date of her late friend’s last short film on her death anniversary that she shot one and half month before she committed suicide. This film wasn’t released that time because of the stay orders deployed by Bombay City Civil and Sessions Court. But on last Friday the court gave permission to release the film that is based on Pratyusha’s life and it is finally here.
Before releasing the film, the court had even asked Kamya Punjabi and the film’s producer to come and appear before the court today. This film features Pratyusha in a leading role. This 18.45 minutes long film has written and directed by Karan Kashyap and produced by Nikhat Neerusha. According to makers, this film resembles the real life of Pratyusha, the troubles she faced, her issues with boyfriend Rahul to her resorting to drinking & smoking.
Not even this, the ending of the film features a scene of a fight between character ‘Rahul’ and ‘Shalu’ aka Pratyusha when the latter warns him to not leave the house or he would not see her again, bearing the strong resemblance to their last fight before she committed suicide. Here is the video:
The promo for this film burnt the Internet on its release on March 27th. According to the sources, her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh had moved the court, seeking to stop the film’s release.
