The Bollywood and Hollywood star, popularly known as Desi Girl in India, Priyanka Chopra faced a backlash from social media users. The actress has been in the news for quite a long time since the day she announced her relationship with American singing sensation Nick Jonas. She is all set to walk down the aisle with fiance Nick Jonas soon and to celebrate the event a bridal shower was thrown for the diva organised by Mubina Rattonsey, Anjula Acharia.
She was looking gorgeous yet hot in a white feathery dress. The actress was donned in a beautiful white Marchesa gown which featured a feathered skirt and a fitted strapless bodice. She paired the stunning bridal-styled attire with tan Louboutin heels. Priyanka accessorised it with custom-made Tiffany’s jewellery that worth $1 million.
Her bridal shower outfit was by Marchesa, the luxury label co-owned Georgia Chapman, the estranged wife of the now infamous Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. When the social media got to know about it, they criticized her for choosing the outfit made by the wife of the alleged sexual harasser. Weinstein has been accused of rape by 13 women and of sexual misconduct by at least 100 women including his employees or other women he has worked with.
In her defence, while speaking to a Women’s Wear Daily, the actress said she chose Marchesa to prove a point about women supporting women. She said that Georgina Chapman was her friend and that the accusations against Harvey were not her fault.
