There were shock waves around the entire nation when superstar Shahrukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, was arrested by NCB. He was at the cruise ship when there was a surprise raid by NCB. As per the information, 3 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of MDMA, and 5 grams of MD were obtained. Currently, the case is making rounds all over the internet and people are discussing the use and misuse of drugs.

While the case is still underway, there are discussions around the use/misuse of drugs. The biggest matter of concern is that it is more popular among youngsters. Although there is no surety that why people take drugs. But still, we have mentioned some points that might lead to addiction.

The reason why people take drugs

We assume that people take drugs because slowly they get addicted to it. But this is not the only thing. There are loads of reasons behind it. Some people think that money and power is the main cause that leads to the intake of drugs. But let us let you you that it’s the addiction only that force people to take drugs. After people consume drugs it becomes so pleasurable that are not able to stop themselves. Which some where badly effects them mentally and ofcourse also physically. Also when the person gets involved in this. Day-to-day life is also affected.

The intake of drugs starts at the initial stage. It happens when the person especially youngsters wants to try something new or do it for fun purpose. But ultimately it results in impaired self-controlling abilities. The reason could be a big trauma in life, or some kind of emotional stress. But those who have strong will power stop themselves. While some fall prey to this. And develop compulsive behaviour.

According to NIDA, “People use drugs for many reasons: they want to feel good, stop feeling bad, or perform better in school or at work, or they are curious because others are doing it and they want to fit in. The last reason is very common among teens.”

Different types of drugs

Every drug reacts differently to our central nervous system, These are Depressants, Hallucinogens Stimulants. So let’s know about their effect.

Depressants – After taking this drug in small quantities the person feels quite relaxed, which means that this drug reduce functional activity. The drugs that comes under this category are Alcohol, cannabis, opiates such as heroine, morphine, GHB are examples of depressants. They make person unconscious and also take the life.

Hallucinogens – These kinds of drugs make the person hallucinate. Means the person see or feel the things that are not really there. Some examples of these drugs are LSD, cannabis, magic mushroom and Ketamine. This lead to paranoia, panic, emotional and mental euphoria.

Stimulants – People take stimulants to get more attentive and focused. But these drugs results in high blood pressure, fever, loss or change in appetite, sleeplessness, and many other problems. The drugs that comes under this category are Caffeine, nicotine, cocaine and ecstasy (MDMA) are examples of stimulants.

How do drugs work?

As per European Journal of Neuroscience the need for drugs starts when a person gets too goal oriented. Slowly they get high on this. With the motive to do something based on a new stimulus.

Also according to The National Institute on Drug Abuse, “Drugs excite the parts of the brain that make you feel good. But after you take a drug for a while, the feel-good parts of your brain get used to it. Then you need to take more of the drug to get the same good feeling. Soon, your brain and body must have the drug just to feel normal.”

How to come out of it

Well, it takes a lot of effort if one really wants to come out of this. It may take time and many attempts. But it can be finally treated. These include Behavioral Therapy along with medication, family therapy, detoxification, and of course knowing that how negatively it can react to our body in several ways. Including social and emotional.
