Qatar on Tuesday discharged 23 Indian detainees, in an extraordinary signal soon after the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mr. Modi, who had taken up the issue of welfare of Indians in Qatar with the nation’s initiative, communicated appreciation to Emir Sheik Tamim container Hamad Al Thani for this motion concurred with the begin of sacred month of Ramadan.

“My most profound appreciation to the Emir of Qatar for the signal,” he said in another tweet.

The discharge approaches on the heels of Mr. Modi’s two-day visit to Doha.
