Actress Jacqueline Fernandez, who as of late celebrated her birthday, has been grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons recently. In a new report, she has been named by the ED as an accused in the Rs 215 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. In the midst of the controversy, actor R Madhavan has come out in Jacqueline’s support.
On Wednesday, Madhavan attended a promotional event for his movie ‘Dhokha – Round D Corner’ in the city. During the media chat, the actor-turned-director talked about Jacqueline’s extortion case.
Madhavan said, “I hope she gets out of trouble very soon. I don’t think this is affecting the image of the country. If fact, in our film fraternity, there have been lesser number of tax raids. Everyone is working with full honesty. I don’t think it will affect the industry. Higher taxpayers are from this industry.”
As indicated by the report, Jacqueline may not be currently arrested as the court is yet to take cognizance of the charge sheet, but she may not be permitted to travel outside the country. Her name came out in the whole case after Sukesh admitted that he was dating her. Even their photos were leaked on the internet.
In the mean time, ‘Dhoka – Round D Corner’ likewise features Aparshakti Khurana, Khushalii Kumar and Darshan Kumaar. The movie is set to release on September 23.
