Fans are super-excited for R Madhavan’s Dhokha – Round D Corner. At the press conference for the movie, R Madhavan talked about different aspects of the film industry including the Hindi vs South Indian movies debate and how the audience are not visiting the theatres much, post-pandemic.
He said that the main reason theaters are closing down is because no one has the time to invest four hours for a film.
R Madhavan, at the press conference of his forthcoming movie Dhokha – Round D Corner, talked about why theaters across India are closing down. He said that numerous theatres don’t have the infrastructure you would expect, and these days everybody travels in cars, so that has become a big issue. He said that the real reason for theaters shutting isn’t the failure of cinemas but bad infrastructure.
He also said, “Aise theatres bandh ho rahe hain jinka infrastructure woh nahi hain jo aaj ke zaamane mein aap expect kar sako. Dekho, theatres mein jaana, pehle log bus ya taxi pakad ke chale jaate the, but aaj kal sabke paas gariya hain, sabke pass two-wheelers hain, toh aise theatres jaha aap ko parking nahi milta, accessibility kum hain…Toh aise theatres bandh ho rahe hain, yeh isiliye nahi bandh ho rahe hain kyun ki picture nahi chal rahi but infrastructure theek nahi hain.”
He further said that only when the old theatres close, can new and advanced ones come up.
