Air India Flight was left embarrassed when a flyer spotted a rat in the passenger cabin. The flight AI131 was flying over Tehran and was on it’s way to London when the rodent made an appearance.
The commander of the flight took the call to go back to Mumbai instead of carrying on to London because the flight officials were afraid the rodent might have cut into the electrical wiring or fittings. The flight was three hours into the journey.
The official was quoted as saying that usually the aircraft is sealed and inert gas is sprayed to prevent any rodents entering the aircraft. He also said that the aircraft was brought back to Mumbai keeping in view the safety of the passengers.
“Our engineering team is investigating the incident. The aircraft will be fumigated,” the spokesperson said.
