Ranveer Singh is being roped in to play the iconic Indian superhero ‘Nagraj’ said Raj Comics president, Manoj Gupta. The film will be produced by filmmaker Karan Johar, Gupta added.
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has quickly become a fan favorite due to its quirky personality and outstanding performances. This young superstar of the Hindi cinema has plans for some highly interesting projects. As per the latest updates, Ranveer is all set to essay the comic superhero Nagraj on the silver screen. Recently, Manoj Gupta, the president of Raj comics confirmed that they have approached Ranveer Singh and director-producer Karan Johar to be a part of the film adaptation. “We are in talks with Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar for a live-action silver-screen adaptation of Nagraj. While nothing is inked so far, things are looking positive,” Gupta told in a recent interview.
Nagraj, which literally means ‘Snake King’, was created in the late 1980s by Sanjay Gupta and published by Raj Comics. The first story on the fictional superhero was penned by Prashuram Sharma and illustrations were done by Pratap Mullik. As per the conversation Gupta revealed that “When we created Nagraj we never imagined that it would attract such a wide fan following across India and we all are happy that finally, a Nagraj movie is taking shape,”
The project is in the initial stages, and the team is planning for a 2022 release. “Everyone is extremely enthusiastic about the idea of making a Nagraj feature film. If things fall in place, Nagraj will emerge as the first live-action film of Ranveer’s career.
