Tally Begins As Ranveer Singh Got His First Award For Padmaavat

Padmaavat has been receiving great reviews from all the sections of the audience. Ranveer Singh aka Alauddin Khilji, is being widely praised for his portrayal of invader. Further, he has received a letter of appreciation from non-other than Amitabh Bachchan.

Ranveer posted a picture of the flowers and letter with caption, “Mujhe mera award mil gaya @SrBachchan.”

Earlier, Amitabh has sent handwritten notes to Sushant Singh Rajput for MS Dhoni The Untold Story, Kangana Ranaut for Queen and Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) and Deepika Padukone for Ram Leela Goliyon Ki Raasleela.

Ranveer in an interview with the IANS, elaborated about his role in the movie: “I will be honest — when I was offered Padmaavat, most people were of the opinion that a hero should not play the anti-hero.But I believed otherwise.”

 Ranveer Singh Got His First Award For Padmaavat

“I saw Khilji as a challenge for me, as an actor. And I wanted to take the challenge up. I went with the vision of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and my instinct of what I could achieve with Khilji.”

“I’m happy that the audiences are seeing and loving a character that both Sanjay sir and I have worked on tirelessly for over two years to bring to life. I took a big risk with this character and it’s wonderful to see my gamble pay off.”

Ranveer further added: “This kind of validation gives one the confidence to take bigger and bigger risks, challenge stereotypes and continue to push the envelope in the realm of mainstream Hindi cinema. I feel very happy and very fulfilled today.”

When it comes to ticket window, Padmaavat has marked his fastest Rs 100-crore mark in four days.
