Osama bin Laden was recognized as the No.1 terrorist in the United States and other countries. Bin Laden was later implicated in a series of terrorist attacks, including the explosion at the World Trade Center in New York in 1993, the explosion of a car bomb in Riyadh – the capital of Saudi Arabia in 1995, the explosion of a truck on the territory of the barracks in Saudi Arabia in 1996, which killed 19 American soldiers and in a 1998 attack on American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Later the attention of the entire world community was riveted to the person of Osama bin Laden after the 11 September attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon when about three thousand people died.
On May 2, 2011, according to the CIA, Osama bin Laden, the leader of the Islamic terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, was killed in a mansion in the city of Abbottabad. 50 kilometers from Islamabad, as a result of a 4-hour joint operation by US and Pakistani special forces. This was announced on the air of the state TV channel by the head of Pakistani intelligence, Ahmed Pasha.
