PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurvedic Research Institute on Wednesday in Haridwar. Now Baba Ramdev is a billionaire businessman but he is still unmarried. Recently, a book by Kaushik Deka “The Baba Ramdev Phenomenon: From Moksha to Market” was launched which revealed many interesting facts about Baba Ramdev’s personal life.
According to the book, after reading Dayanand Saraswati’s book “Satyartha Prakash”, Ramdev’s life got changed completely. The teachings and lessons of the book influenced Baba Ramdev so much that even during his school days he started living his life like saints or holy persons. He took a resolution that he will never be going to marry and will always follow celibacy.
The very first chapter of “Satyartha Prakash” includes the importance and origination of spiritual word “Om”. “Om” refers to Atman (soul, self within) and Brahman (ultimate reality, the entirety of the universe, truth, divine, supreme spirit, cosmic principles and knowledge. The meaning of this word threw left a drastic impact on Ramdev that he decided to use this word while greeting or acknowledging people. Even today he says “Om” instead of Hello on phone.
Baba Ramdev was born on December 25, 1965, in Ali Sayeedpur village of district Mahendragarh, Haryana. His original name was Ramkrishan Yadav. While studying in government school of his village, he ran away from his home. After that, he took admission in a Gurukul in Haryana’s Khanpur. There he started researching the teachings of Vedas, Puranas and their philosophy and after years became a Yoga Guru. He is a famous name now and is well-known for his work in ayurveda, business, politics and agriculture.
