A Place of Our Own, 2022
The Bhopal-based Ektara Collective has released a new movie called A Place of Our Own. It will make its UK debut at BFI Flare 2023. Roshni and Laila, two transgender women, are central to the film as they pursue a personal quest to create a home of their own.
Aligarh, 2015
The socially conscious movie Aligarh was helmed by Hansal Mehta. Professor Siras (Manoj Bajpayee), who was expelled from Aligarh University after having sex with another man, is the main character in the story. Siras was ultimately discovered dead. In the movie, Rajkummar Rao was also present.
Joyland, 2022
The middle-class Rana family serves as the focus of the inner-city Lahore-based drama Joyland. This grandfather wants a grandson just like every other conventional Asian grandfather. He discusses this desire with his daughter-in-law Mumtaz, who was made to resign from her position. In order to make up for it, Haider, the husband, gets work at an exotic dance theatre. As Haider falls in love with Biba Khan, a transgender dancer, the plot twists ever further.
Margarita with a Straw (2014)
The filmmaker Shonali Bose’s experiences as a bisexual woman and her cousin Malini Chib’s activism for handicap rights in India are combined in this film. The protagonist of Margarita with a Straw is Laila, a queer disabled woman portrayed by Kalki Koechlin who embarks on a personal quest to understand her sexuality. During a talk with her cousin Malini Chib, Bose came up with the concept for the movie.
Call Me By Your Name, 2017
Italy in the 1980s is where Call Me by Your Name is set. The novel-to-film adaptation centres on a romance between a student, 17, and the older man employed as his father’s research assistant.
Tangerine (2015)
At the actual doughnut store where much of the action takes place in the film, director Sean Baker discovered his two leads, both of whom were aspiring actors. The unofficial red light zone along Santa Monica Boulevard is where the 2015 film Tangerine was shot on iPhones. It follows a lovesick cab driver and two transsexual sex workers. The three characters’ exploits on a dramatic Christmas Eve are shown in the film.
Jennifer’s Body, 2009
Jennifer’s body is a 2009 American horror comedy helmed by Karyn Kusama. Megan Foz who appears as a cheerleader Jennifer turns into a succubus who kills her male classmates. Her best friend Anita (Amanda Seyfried) makes an attempt to terminate her action but is seduced by the former.
Aik Larki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, 2019
Aik Larki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga features the story of lesbian, Sweety Chaudhary acted by Sonam Kapoor and her urge to disclose her real self amidst the conservative Punjabi family. This also features get collab with father Anil Kapoor and stars Rajkumar Rao.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is a romantic-comedy film which is a sequel to the 2017 film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. Featuring Ayushmann Khuranna, the movie was helmed by Hitesh Kewalya.The story revolves around a gay man who tries his best to convince his family to accept his orientation and interests.

Sheer Qorma, 2021 is Indian drama short film regarding queer romance. It was written and helmed by Faraz Arif Ansari and bankrolled by Marijke Desouza.
