Reliance Jio is said to be planning to extend the Jio Prime membership deadline by a month as it is falling short of the targeted sign-ups. According to a report by TeleAnalysis, the last day to sign up for Jio Prime membership, which is March 31, may be delayed to April 30.
Reliance Jio is said to be short of missing its targets for Jio Prime membership by as much as 50 percent. The report says only 22-27 million users have signed up for Jio Prime membership which is available at an introductory price of Rs. 99 till March 31. This figure, worrying for Jio, represents roughly quarter of 100 million user base the company last announced.
However, the company is yet to make a final decision on extending the Jio Prime membership deadline.
Reliance Jio Plans and Offers
Reliance Jio Prime membership will allow users to continue availing unlimited data, SMS, and other bundled services at less than Rs. 10 per day. Once a user signs up for Jio Prime, they can get 1GB of 4G data per day for 28 days at Rs. 303, and 2GB per day at Rs. 499, among other Jio Prime plans.
On the other hand, rivals such as Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular and BSNL have launched their data plans offering up to 2GB data per day in the price bracket of Rs. 300-500 to compete with Reliance Jio.
