It was in the year 2017 when a BSF Jawan became a topic of discussion on the internet. The soldier posted a video in which he showed the bad quality of food they get served in the Army base they are posted. After his move, the constable dismissed from service.
Now, after almost 1 and half year the sacked BSF constable Tej Bahadur Yadav’s 22-year-old son Rohit found dead mysteriously. His body was found in a locked room of the family’s home with a gun in his hands. The police say the family called to report a suicide. The police officer said that,
“We received a call that Rohit has committed suicide. At the crime spot, we discovered that the room was locked from inside. The body was lying on the bed. There was a pistol in his hands.”
Tej Bahadur Yadav was away at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh for the Kumbh Mela, said the police. “We have informed him,” the officer said.
After the “bad food” video of Tej Bahadur went viral in 2017, the BSF had set up a court of inquiry against him — “watery dal and burnt chapatis” — served to the troops on the frontlines surfaced online. His videos were so impactful that even home ministry, as well as the Prime Minister, got influenced. They ordered an investigation and asked for a report.
After this controversy, Yadav was shifted out of the Line of Control and shockingly later expelled on charges of making false claims. Alleging persecution, Yadav also put out a video complaining that the authorities hadn’t really probed his allegations.
Well, whatever the truth is, we are feeling sad for his loss! May his son’s soul rest in peace!
