According to a recent study, scientists have found that french fries are healthier than salad. Yes, you read it right. It all started when scientists monitored the rise of blood sugar levels among 800 different people who consumed identical meals. We cut the results in the following steps:
- One person can eat French fries to their heart’s content but there is no negative effect on the health.
- Some participants experienced a glucose spike after eating sushi, but not after eating ice-cream.
- A blood sugar levels spike after eating bananas but not after eating cookies.
People’s bodies react very differently to the exact same foods.
Professor Segal who lead the research said: “The huge differences that we found in the rise of blood sugar levels among different people who consumed identical meals highlights why personalized eating choices are more likely to help people stay healthy than universal dietary advice.”
Segal further added that there is a need to develop personal dietary recommendations that can help prevent and treat obesity and diabetes, which are among the most severe epidemics in human history.
