Rio 2016 Olympics bound athletes recieved a warm send-off by Salman Khan and AR Rahman on Monday at an event organised by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) in New Delhi.
Salman, who is also the Indian Olympic contingent brand ambassador, along with Music director Rahman and the IOA officials gave a grand send-off to the Indian athletes at the event. The list of attendees included tennis star Sania Mirza, Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Vinod Tomar, Dipa Karmakar and table tennis star Manika Batra. Both Salman and Rahman, who met the athletes for the first time, provided the athletes with moral confidence ahead of their journey to Rio.

Sania Mirza will pair up with young Prarthana Thombare in women’s doubles and with Rohan Bopanna in mixed doubles at Rio Olympics. She said that she had prepared for the Olympics the same way she did for every major tournament.
Sakshi Malik, who had previously represented India in the women’s freestyle 58 kg category at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, grabbed silver medal at the Olympics qualifier in Mongolia last month beating the 2012 world champion Lan Zhang of China.
