Rio Olympics Day 6 India Highlights : Still Hopes On Badminton, Tennis & Hockey

Young boxer Shiva Thapa (56kg) bowed out of the Olympic Games after being out-punched by fourth-seeded Cuban Robeisy Ramirez in the opening round. The 22-year-old, competing in his second Olympics, lost 0-3 in a one-sided contest, in which he also ended up sustaining a cut above his left eye.

Shiva was on the backfoot from the very beginning of the contest in Pavilion 6 at the Riocentro and was well beaten on points, losing all three rounds. The first round was won by the Cuban boxer 10-9, after some heavy hitting, in an unanimous decision by all the three judges.
