Rishab Shetty directorial Kantara which received the highest IMDb rating is roaring the box office since its release. The film grossed at a whopping ₹200-crore overseas, becoming the third Kannada film to etch the spot. Interestingly, this feature film might soon surpass both the editions of KGF films.
Apart from the Kannada version, the movie has also garnered much profit from its Hindi and Telegu versions. According to trade source, Sanilk, the movie has collected ₹211.5 crore overseas including ₹196.95 crore from India. Within ten days, the Hindi version gained ₹24 crore while the Telugu earned ₹23 crore.
According to a report by Sacnilk the film has emerged as the highest watched feature to date, surpassing KGF. Kantara has been shining at the ticket window with a selling rate of 77 lakh tickets in Karnataka alone.
Kantara is almost at the top in the charts of the highest-grossing film of the year. It stands in the eighth position just behind KGF 2, RRR, Ponniyin Selvan I, Brahmastra, Vikram, The Kashmir Files, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
