Kolkata Knight Riders star batsman, Robin Uthappa has landed up in the controversy after he elbowed bowler Siddharth Kaul, followed by a heated exchange of words. Immediately, Field Umpire S. Ravi intervened to solve the matter.
But as soon as both the teams stepped out after a passing rain shower stopped the game, angry Yuvraj Singh approached Uthappa, put a hand around his neck and exchanged few words with him.
Robin Uthappa made his One Day International debut in the final match of the English tour of India in April 2006. He is nicknamed ‘The Walking Assassin’ for his strategy of charging the bowler.
In the seventh season of the IPL, Uthappa won the Orange Cap, given for scoring most runs in the season, 660, and in the process created a T20 record for having scored 40+ scores in 8 consecutive games.
Uthappa’s best score in IPL came against Rising Pune Supergiant when he scored 87 off 47 balls.
